With your 1st post I understood you started to loosing performance when overclocked more then 3Ghz.I noticed from the LFS bechmarks that your CPU is throtling because of the way lowered min FPS in LFS.

I said also the temp is too high and I wouldnt be suprised its badly throtling.You expected to cores go up to 3.4Ghz???Be aware that some of the latest bunch of E6400 cores has trouble of going over to 3Ghz so I wouldnt be suprised you got one.Also you need after market cooling for CPU if you want to go so high.the bundled cooler is really not for something like that.

If the issue is not what I have mentioned above please let me know.I really have hard times to understand what is your real issue.

I would try 1st to connect to the router by wire.
Its really worth to try it.

Did you also tried the packet lost to the Test servers?

even 70 is too high even for C2D so it might throtling.Some of the C2D start throtling even under 70 degree!! Do you have aftermarket cooling on the CPU or the standard box cooler bundled with the CPU?Also when you get BSOD it usually mean you pushed the CPU or memory too far.

LFS shows at 3.2Hgz that you have much lower FPS and LFs is very CPU bottlenecked game.It clearly shows your CPU is throtling at 3.2Ghz.

Whats your vcore for CPU?

Also on many motherboards when you set PCI-E to 100Mhz it will not lock.You need to put it rather to 101Mhz and it will lock down on all motherboards.Especially on MSI motherboard the PCI-E doesnmt get locked if manually moved to 100Mhz.

Is your graphic card overclocked?

Its the same 50 percent rule for kick? Doesnt the rule apply for all people on the server?I think it should apply for the people acutally racing and people who just spectate shouldnt be involved.Dunno whats the best way to have it done most effective.

I was on the same server is NIKI yesterday and we couldnt get kick someone because the kick voting ended always at something like 19/21 or 17/21 etc.The racing was really nice but without option to kick such a people the fun was destroyed.I think NIKI can confirms it.

My post are never meant in way that I would treat you like i****.Never as I have BIG respect for your work.I just know sometimes when there are a lot of things to do something might slip from the mind(I know you sometimes forgot to update the master server with new patch for example ).

hard to get rid of people who drive rubbish.Also the vote no nned to be 100percent 3/4 of people would enough.Some people just dont care so they dont vote.

I would make to kick/ban system a bit different.There are some id*** on the test servers and its really hard to kick/ban someone if all guys need to vote.I know some doesnt care so they dont vote.

What about putting the rule when 3/4 guys vote then person is kicked/banned.As I said its really hard now with so many people get rid of some morons.I dont like using these words but its really confusing racing with some poeple.

EDITED:I have been racing with NIKI and I can agree with him.Really hard to get rid of these people driving rubbish.

just a short question.Are you going to do somewthing about the low FPS in SHIFT+U when there are many players on the server but using SHIFT+U and for example looking just at track without visible cars you get extremly low FPS.Basically you get now extremly low FPS in SHIFT+U.

LFS is highly CPU limited.No doubt about it.

I have quick prove.When I set resolution to 640*480 and check FPS and then put it 1280*1024 it gives me still same FPS.Doesnt matter if I overclokc my graphic card on the core by 100Mhz and memory by 200Mhz(7900GT).Also FPS are not affected by AA+AF at all on my card.In the second I overclock the CPU core from 2Ghz to 2.4Ghz(AMD A64 3200+) the FPS raise a lot.

Also HL2 is very known as CPU limited game and the difference is very minimal between E6300 and X2 4600+.

You can basically overclock nowdays on every mainboard but you need to have some experience with that to not screw your motheboard,memory or CPU.Be carefull when doing that.

On cheapest motherboards the overcloking potential is usually very minimal.

I would buy the second one if you dont want someone build the machine for you from componnents.It would be cheaper.

What I foudn suspicious is the 250W powersupply.Hopefully its only typo otherwise this machine would have serious problem now or later on with stability.While it can boot you would stress already the PSU a lot and in 3D mode the PSU would failed pretty soon.You will not have a place for later upgrades as 250W is kidna funny to see in such a machine.Definately at least 450W as the cheap one used in pre-build machines are really weak one.

Check really the PSU spec with that compnay for the second offer.As I said.Looks really better to me unless the PSU is really not 250W.I cant bealive its really 250W one. Min 350W PSU is recomended for PC machine with 8500GT.

I will format the C: srive with OS in weekend as he will bring the PC to me.
Hopefully its only broken Windows instllation.I went already quickly over the mobo and seems there was no capacitors leaking.Its really puzzle for me and might be even bigger if it would be same after the OS installation.

Unfortunately I dont have any AGP graphic card anymore to try that.the problem is that the PC freeze occasionally in desktop as well so I am not really suspectaing graphic card.He called me today that it freezed yesterday when he tried running NOD32.He couldnt switch of the PC nor restart so he had to unplug it from electricity.

Yes,you can download only the drivers and doesnt have to install the CCC.
The proper way to uninstall the ATI drivers is as you described above.Brilliant:-)

you have not been reading my post above a lot.
Tried to stress the machine a lot.Temps not problem.
Tried memtest - no problem.
Tried swap PSU - same issue.

I did not underclock because didnt have much time.He will bring the machine to me at friday and we agreed to format the OS and install from scratch.If it will continue I will try to underclock.If it will remain again then I am really lost.I doubt its motherboard as it would give more some BSOD but this is not happening at all.

Hopefully its only messed Windows XP.

What about this one(please see attached picture).
Its 607euro and I think pretty good balanced.CPU is on pair with E6300.

I would threw another 200-300 Euros more thought.

I have PC(from my friend) which started restarting or freezing like 2 weeks ago.

I have already monitored CPU,GPU,chipset tempretures in background in both idle and load status but nothing is overheating.Also sometimes the thermal diodes might not reporting the tempretures right so I tried to put my fingers on CPU heatsink,chipset heatsink,GPU cooler to be sure and everything is slihgtly warm and not hot at all.So the tempretures are not the issue.

Tested memory as well with memtest loaded on boot diskette.No errors during 6 hours.

I tried today swap the PSU and no difference at all.PC freezed during game after about 1 minute.To say it mostly does with games running but occasionally with other programs as well.

I am basically lost what it could really be.I am suspecting either messed Windows XP PRO or last thing the motherboard.What you guys thing.Any ideas?

I thought it was initally 2nd SATA HDD which we added like 2 month ago but it was same after we disconnected the drive from the system.I really have no idea.

That was number from the machine I built.I just wanted to show that its really small number in the world its even smaller.

So I really hate somone arguing that C2D is better deal because you can overclock it so much.Its a deal for someone who knows how to overclock and face the problems when its become unstable but not for somone who can just use windows.They dont look at how much its overclockable but at the money/performance ratio.

Yes some features maybe disabled on the AM2 mobo using AM3 processor.
K10 have quite different architecture with some extra nice features.

Also take in mind that the percent number of people who do overclokcing is really minimal.We have some "experts" here in this thread so we might think the opposite.I make PC as my hobby and I get some money from that but the number of overcloked machines is like 1/50.I always care more about stability then having people complaing then its restarting itself etc.When you do it at your home and you know very well how to do that(its not just simply raising the FSB) and where are the limits then its fine.


AMD has now very good deals.Personally I think the best buy is now E6600.No really extra high prize and amazing perfomance.The price war was this year really strong.I think the strongest one in last few years.I guess some people who bought CPU at the start 2007 had to be extremly pissed later on but these wars were really good for us - customers.

could you really test it.I have hight doubts about it being so realistic as your friend described.From the ingame videos I am really thinking its the opposite way.Realistic doesnt mean you get the "hundreds" of value displayed nice graphically but how the cars behave.

I would like to see someone from LFS comunity testing Forza 2 and coming with something.I am not expecting its really that good.

I downloaded it and was expecting finally something good from Codemasters, CMR2 was really nice one, but it wasnt worth to try it.Exactly 3 howecrafts to drive.total arcade game.

Its total arcade game.The enviremonets are only positive things to mention.The bloom effect is horrible.I want crips picture and not one like I am drunked.

Forza2 doesnt looks as good as everyone expecting.What a shame.I bet GT5 will smash down that game.

You made already similar one at the graphic card section.These threads are simply useless as most of the time it only make mostly coming people who are fanatic for each of the brands.

With CPU and graphic card its always the same way.One is better intel next time AMD and its going in circles.Same with NVIDIA and ATI.

AMD was leading a long time with K8 architecture and Intel had to make big reorganization in the company.P4 at the end was a disaster for them to produce.Now its better Intel with the nice C2D architecture which has a part from P3 architecture which was very succesfull for Intel(bless the Osraeli engineers)but at the 3rd/4th part of the 2007 AMD is coming with new K10 architecture so things might change good for AMD again.
